Plain-English summary
General Motors LLC is recalling certain 2020 and 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vehicles, along with other Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac models. These vehicles may be equipped with Continental tires that were overcured during manufacturing.
Overcured tires may develop a carcass break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss, or experience belt edge separation that could lead to partial or full tread loss. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
General Motors will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect vehicles and replace any tires with identified DOT and production mold number combinations free of charge. The recall began December 17, 2020. For more information, owners of Chevrolet vehicles can contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or visit www.safercar.gov.
