2024 PJ Trailers Recalled: Defective Tires Cause Pressure Loss
PJ Trailers is recalling 2024 model trailers due to defective tires that may experience sidewall separation and pressure loss. Dealers will replace affected tires free of charge.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This is a vehicle tire defect that violates federal safety standards (FMVSS 119) and directly causes loss of tire pressure, increasing crash risk. However, the source does not report any actual injuries, deaths, or property damage from this defect, placing it in the High category as a risk-of-harm product without reported incident.
Plain-English summary
PJ Trailers is recalling approximately 4,267 2024 model trailers including models B5, B6, B8, C8, CC, CE, D3, D5, D8, DD, DG, DL, DM, DR, DT, F8, FD, FY, L6, LD, LS, LX, LY, P8, PL, T1, T6, T7, T8, T9, TF, and TJ. The tires on these trailers may experience bubbling and separation of the sidewall, which can cause loss of tire pressure. This defect fails to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119 for pneumatic tires.
Loss of tire pressure increases the risk of a crash.
