2017-2021 Freightliner Cascadia Brake Lights May Remain Illuminated

The brake lights may remain illuminated even after the driver releases the brake pedal. This malfunction prevents other drivers from seeing when the truck is actually braking or slowing, increasing the risk of a crash.
A total of 128,451 vehicles are potentially affected by this recall. Owner notifications began in November 2020, with formal notification letters mailed on November 21, 2021.
Owners should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 to schedule service. DTNA will replace the 3-pin brake pressure switch with a 2-pin brake pressure switch along with a jumper harness, free of charge.
