Commercial trucks recalled over brake caliper bolts risking loss of braking

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling a range of Freightliner, Western Star and FCCC vehicles over brake caliper mounting bolts, which can lead to a loss of brake function. 402 units are affected.

The brake caliper mounting bolts are the subject of the recall. DTNA states that a loss of brake function can increase the risk of a crash, and that a damaged wheel or tire can lead to a loss of vehicle control, also increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace or tighten the brake caliper mounting bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 10, 2025. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712.
