Audi Recalls 2012-2017 Models for Coolant Pump Fire Risk

The defect involves an electric coolant pump that can become blocked with debris from the cooling system. If the pump becomes blocked, it can overheat, which increases the risk of a fire.
Audi will notify owners, and dealers will update the software to deactivate the power supply to the coolant pump if it becomes blocked. This repair is free of charge. The recall was expected to begin on February 20, 2017. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
