The Trailer Tow Lighting Control Module on these vehicles may contain a software error that prevents the trailer brake lights from illuminating when the brakes are applied. This defect causes the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108. Inoperative trailer brake lights can increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the Trailer Tow Light Control Module free of charge. The recall began on June 20, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
