The recall is due to a defect in the Kidde plastic valve disposable handheld fire extinguishers installed in these vehicles. These extinguishers may not properly discharge when the lever is pressed. In the event of a fire, if the extinguisher does not work correctly, there is an increased risk of injury.

McNeilus will notify owners and advise them to follow instructions from Kidde to inspect their fire extinguishers. Kidde will replace the fire extinguishers as necessary, free of charge.
