Entegra Recalls 2015-2016 Cornerstone Motorhomes Due to Brake Hose Rubbing

What this means for you

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect affecting the braking system that increases the risk of a vehicle crash, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Entegra Coach is recalling certain model year 2015 and 2016 Cornerstone Class A motorhomes, specifically models 45B, 45J, and 45K. These vehicles were manufactured between February 24, 2014, and August 18, 2015, and are built on a Spartan Chassis. The recall affects 211 vehicles.

The defect involves rear jack plates that may rub against the tag axle brake air hose when the plates are retracted. This rubbing can cause an air leak when the brake pedal is pressed, which reduces braking performance on both the drive axle and the tag axle. Consequently, the distance needed to stop the motorhome is lengthened, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Entegra will notify owners on behalf of Spartan. Dealers will reposition the tag axle brake air hose to ensure it is clear of the jack plate at no cost to the owner. The recall began on August 21, 2015. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
