Entegra Recalls 2014-2015 Cornerstone Motorhomes for Seat Belt Defect

Entegra is recalling 2014-2015 Cornerstone motorhomes because incorrect seat belt attachments may cause fraying and reduced strength, increasing injury risk in crashes.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect where a safety restraint system may fail, increasing the risk of injury in a crash, but no specific injuries or fatalities are reported in the source text.

Plain-English summary

Entegra Coach is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Cornerstone motorhomes manufactured between January 21, 2014, and March 25, 2014. These vehicles are equipped with specific Villa ABTS driver and passenger seats that have a defect in the seat belt attachment.

The seat belt attachment may be incorrect, causing the belt to rub against a steel bracket in the seat. This friction can cause the seat belt to fray and reduce its strength. As a result, these seats do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies." If the weakened seat belt fails to properly restrain the occupant during a crash, the risk of injury increases.

Owners should contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787 for information. Dealers will inspect and repair the seat with proper fasteners and inspect the seat belt webbing for fraying. If necessary, the seat belt assembly will be replaced free of charge. The recall began in June 2014.
