Strick Trailers, LLC is recalling certain model year 2009-2015 Dry Freight Van Trailers manufactured between April 25, 2008, and June 5, 2014. The affected trailers are equipped with rear impact guards using specific gusset part numbers (40033/40034, 43191/43192, 63133/63134, or 67046/67047). These rear impact guards do not meet federal standards for strength and energy absorption, meaning the trailers do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 223, "Rear Impact Guards."

If a trailer is struck from behind and the rear impact guards do not meet the required standards, there is an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash. Strick will notify owners, and the rear impact guards of the trailers will be reinforced free of charge. The recall began on December 5, 2014.
