The defect involves the fuel filter shell potentially separating from the fuel filter nut plate. This separation can cause the engine to stall without warning. If the engine stalls unexpectedly, there is an increased risk of a crash.
Cummins will notify owners, and dealers will replace the defective fuel filter with a non-defective one free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
