What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (wiring harness contacting fuel line) that creates a significant risk of fire, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
Navistar, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 IC CE school buses manufactured between October 3, 2013, and March 16, 2015. The recall involves 6,302 vehicles, specifically the IC BUS CASB and CESB models.
In the affected buses, the powertrain wiring harness may contact the high-pressure fuel line for one of the fuel injectors. This contact can result in a fuel leak. If the high-pressure fuel line leaks, fuel may spray into the engine compartment, which increases the risk of a fire.
Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will install an additional harness saddle and cable tie strap to provide proper clearance, free of charge. The recall began on February 20, 2015. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 15501.
