Speedway Motors, Inc. is recalling certain brake light switches with a 3/8 inch IFM adapter fitting, part number 910-31303, used in hot rod and street rod applications. The affected brake light switch may crack under the pressure caused by pushing on the brake pedal, allowing the electrical contact housing to separate from the metal housing.
A crack or separation would result in a leak of brake fluid and a loss of hydraulic brake pressure, lengthening the vehicle's stopping distance and increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 2,847 units.
