Exiss and Sooner Travel Trailer Door Lock Recall

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is recalling approximately 3,558 model year 2006-2013 Exiss and Sooner travel trailers. These vehicles were manufactured between January 1, 2006, and April 25, 2013, and are equipped with Fastec-brand door locks.

The recall addresses a defect where the key may be removed from the lock in a way that jams the deadbolt. If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. This could leave a person inside the travel trailer locked in and unable to exit, increasing the risk of injury.

Exiss/Sooner will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall began on December 17, 2013.
