Proline Travel Trailer Recall for Door Lock Jamming Hazard

PROLine is recalling 2006-2013 travel trailers with Fastec door locks that may jam, potentially trapping occupants inside the vehicle.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported, as the defect could trap occupants inside the vehicle.

Plain-English summary

PROLine Products LLC is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 cargo trailers manufactured between January 1, 2006, and April 25, 2013. These vehicles are equipped with Fastec-brand door locks. The recall involves 1,102 units.

The defect may allow the key to be removed in a way that jams the deadbolt. If this occurs, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. A person inside the travel trailer at the time would be locked in and unable to exit without using the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.

PROLine will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall began on December 3, 2013. Owners may contact PROLine at 1-603-652-7337 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov.
