Plain-English summary

Outlaw Conversions is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 Hart, 4-Star, and Platinum gooseneck horse trailers with living quarters. These vehicles were manufactured between January 1, 2006, and April 25, 2013, and are equipped with Fastec-brand door locks.

The recall addresses a defect where the key may be removed in a way that jams the deadbolt. If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam, potentially locking a person inside the trailer and preventing them from exiting without using the emergency exit. This condition increases the risk of injury.

Outlaw will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. Owners may contact Outlaw at 1-254-968-5733 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov.
