Turtle Top is recalling certain model year 2006-2010 transit buses equipped with Century-2 and/or Vista-2 wheelchair lifts. The affected vehicles include the Terra Transport, Ford Van Terra, and Ford Odyssey models. The recall involves 577 units.
The defect involves the roll stop latches on the outer barrier, which may become bent or misaligned over time with frequent use. If the latches are insufficient, a wheelchair occupant may defeat or ride over the roll stop. If this occurs while the lift platform is in an elevated position, the occupant could fall and sustain injury.
