The recall involves model numbers 08-975 and 08-977 manufactured between February 1, 1993, and September 30, 1995. These wind-up swings were sold nationwide at juvenile products and discount department stores for approximately $45 to $49.

The hazard exists because screws connecting the metal hanger tubes and the U-shaped seat support can loosen and fall out. This failure can cause the seat support and seat to fall, posing a risk of injury to infants. Cosco has received over 300 complaints regarding the screws, including 44 reports of injuries such as bumps, bruises, and one concussion.

Consumers should stop using the recalled swings immediately. The original repair kit is no longer available, and a new cash incentive is being offered.
