The pacifiers feature a pink, yellow, or blue guard and ring with a rubber nipple and were sold in plastic bubble packaging attached to a perforated display panel. The products were distributed in Arizona, California, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, New York, and Texas between August 1992 and November 1993.
The recall was issued because the pacifiers fail to meet CPSC regulations. During testing, the nipple separated from the base, and the guard or shield was found to penetrate too far into the mouth without ventilation holes. These deficiencies present a serious choking hazard to infants and young children. CPSC staff is not aware of any choking incidents involving the pacifier but believes the likelihood of injury is high.
Consumers should return the pacifier to Eugene Trading Inc. at 3841 Broadway Place, Los Angeles, CA 90037 for a refund of the purchase price, or destroy and throw out the pacifier.
