Plain-English summary
Target Stores of Minneapolis, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 15,500 two-pack, decorated Christmas pacifiers. The recall was initiated after Target received one report of a nipple separating from the plastic shield of one of the pacifiers. While no injury resulted from this specific incident, the separated nipple presents a possible serious choking hazard to young children.
The affected pacifiers are packed two to a carton and feature a small red rigid handle assembly and a standard-sized, curved, white plastic shield. The shields are decorated with Christmas Reindeer, Santas, Elves, or Snowmen. Each pattern is packaged separately, with two pacifiers blister-packed on a red and white card labeled "DECORATED PACIFIERS."
Target sold these pacifiers from October 1994 to December 1994 for $1.25. Neither CPSC nor Target Stores is aware of any injuries involving this pacifier; the recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury. Consumers should immediately discontinue use of the pacifiers and return them to the nearest Target store for a full refund.
