These products consist of wristbands with Velcro fasteners, one for a child and one for an adult, featuring painted Mickey Mouse and Big Bird characters. Approximately 20,000 units were shipped between June 1987 and November 1987 and sold for approximately $8.95 each.

The recall is issued because the painted characters on the wristbands may contain excess levels of lead. If the paint is ingested, it may present a potential lead poisoning hazard. Neither Hasbro, Inc. nor the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is aware of any injuries or deaths associated with these products.

Consumers should discontinue use of the products immediately. They may return the items to the retail store where purchased for a full refund or send them to Playskool Baby, Inc., PO Box 200, Pawtucket, RI 02862-0200 for a full refund.
