DM Merchandising Inc. is recalling approximately 86,400 units of children's "Ultra Gear" bracelets due to a lead poisoning hazard. The recalled jewelry contains high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. The bracelets are 8-inch-long, silver-colored chain bands featuring a 1½-inch-long casting with assorted designs, including a snake and a sword.

The products were manufactured in China and sold at U.S. Gifts stores, dollar stores, and small discount stores nationwide from July 2004 through January 2007 for approximately $1 each. No injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled product.

Consumers should immediately take the jewelry away from children. To obtain a full refund, consumers should return the recalled jewelry to the store where purchased or contact DM Merchandising at (800) 548-6784 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday, or visit www.dmmerchandising.com.
