Small World and Davis-Grabowski Recall Toys with Choking Hazards
Small World Toys and Davis-Grabowski are recalling specific puzzles and a toy car part due to choking hazards for children under three.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves small parts that pose a choking hazard to children under three, which fits the rubric criterion for 'risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.'
Plain-English summary
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has accepted consent agreements from Small World Toys and Davis-Grabowski, Inc. to recall specific toys that violate safety requirements. The recall includes the plastic hat from the "driver" of the Ambi Mini Racer car (Model E666), as well as Discovery World/Small World "Lift and Learn" puzzles (models 2501, 2503, 2504, 2505, and 2506) and "Scratch and Sniff" puzzles (models 2507, 2508, 2509, 2510, and 2512).
The recalled items contain small parts, such as the car driver's hat and yellow knobs on the puzzle pieces, which may detach. These small parts present a choking, aspiration, or ingestion hazard to children younger than three years old. New versions of the puzzles with red knobs are not involved in the recall.
Consumers can return the Ambi Mini Racer hat to the retail store where it was purchased for a $1.00 premium. CPSC is not aware of any reports of injuries involving these toys. Consumers may contact Davis-Grabowski at 305-751-3667, Small World Toys at 213-645-9680, or CPSC at 800-638-CPSC for more information.
