Plain-English summary
Small World Toys Enterprises is recalling approximately 4,000 units of Ryan's Room brand Spin-A-Mals Farm and Spin-A-Mals Safari wooden puzzles. These toys are intended for children over 12 months of age and consist of painted rectangular boards with mounted pegs and removable gear and animal-shaped pieces. The farm puzzle includes 14 pieces, while the safari puzzle includes 11 pieces. The puzzle boards are marked with "2012 Small World Toys" on the bottom right.
The recall was issued because small pegs on the puzzle boards can loosen and separate, creating a choking hazard for children. The company has received four reports of pegs separating from the boards, but no injuries have been reported. The puzzles were sold at toy stores nationwide and through catalogs from May 2012 through October 2012 for approximately $25. The products were manufactured in China.
Consumers should immediately take the puzzles away from children and contact Small World Toys for a free replacement toy. After contacting the company, the recalled toys should be destroyed and disposed of in a manner that prevents future use. Consumers can reach Small World Toys at (800) 421-4153 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, by email at [email protected], or online at www.smallworldtoys.com by clicking on "Recall".
