Evajoy Above-Ground Pools Recalled Over Drowning Hazard

Evajoy 48-inch and taller above-ground pools are recalled due to a drowning hazard. The compression strap around pool legs can create a foothold allowing child access.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The source states no injuries reported, and the hazard is a risk-of-harm product (drowning) where injury has not yet been reported, which corresponds to the High (Score 3) criterion.

Plain-English summary

Evajoy 48-inch and taller above-ground pools are being recalled. The recall includes models EJ-HF032 (16 feet diameter, 48 inches height), EJ-HF044 (18 feet diameter, 52 inches height), and EJ-HF045 (24 feet diameter, 52 inches height). About 4,000 units were sold.

The compression strap that surrounds the outside of the pool legs may create a foothold, allowing a child to access the pool, posing a drowning risk. Children can still gain access to the pools using these footholds even if the ladder is removed.

The pools were sold online at Amazon.com from March 2023 through June 2024. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should contact Evajoy to request a free repair kit that removes the compression strap from the pool. In the interim, consumers should ensure that children cannot access the pool unattended or, alternatively, drain the pool until the repair can be installed. Contact Evajoy toll-free at 888-846-2988.
