Joyful Journeys baby loungers recalled for fall and entrapment hazards

Approximately 9,300 Joyful Journeys baby loungers are recalled for violating infant sleep safety standards. The loungers have sides too low to contain infants and openings too wide, posing fall and entrapment hazards.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The product violates mandatory infant sleep product safety standards with documented structural defects including low sides and oversized foot openings that pose risks of entrapment and falls. However, no injuries or illnesses have been reported, which per the rubric limits the score to High (3) rather than higher classifications.

Plain-English summary

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled approximately 9,300 Joyful Journeys baby loungers. The recalled product is a foam sleeping pad with padded bumpers and a cloth cover that zips into a bag configuration. The loungers were available in eight styles: green avocado, blue dinosaur, blue lambs, blue zoo animals, green minky, neutral elephants, pink zoo animals, and white minky.

The recalled baby loungers violate the mandatory safety standard for Infant Sleep Products. The sides of the loungers are too low to adequately contain an infant, and the enclosed openings at the foot of the loungers are wider than allowed by safety standards. Additionally, the loungers lack a stand, which poses a fall hazard if the product is used on elevated surfaces.

The recalled loungers were sold online through Amazon.com and Walmart.com between December 2023 and October 2025 for between $40 and $60. The distributor is Sarnia Sales LLC, doing business as Joyful Journeys, located in Issaquah, Washington.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled baby loungers and contact Joyful Journeys for a full refund. The company requires consumers to destroy the product by removing the foam and pads from the lounger cover and cutting the cover, foam, and pads in half. Consumers should email photos of the destroyed pieces to [email protected] to obtain their refund.
