Biometric Firearm Safes Recalled for Unauthorized Access Risk
SA Consumer Products is recalling Sanctuary Quick Access and Sports Afield Biometric Firearm Safes because the biometric lock can be opened by unauthorized users, posing a serious injury hazard and risk of death. No injuries have been reported.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The hazard involves risk of serious injury and death from unauthorized access to firearms stored in the recalled safes. Although no injuries have been reported, the potential for harm is significant given the deadly nature of unsecured firearms, which meets the High severity criterion for risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.
