Yamaha PA-10 AC Power Adaptors Recalled for Electrical Hazards

Yamaha Corporation of America is recalling Yamaha PA-10 AC Power Adaptors with date codes ranging from 2126 to 2319. These power adapters were bundled with five models of Yamaha analog mixing consoles (MG10, MG10X CV, MG10XU, MG10XUF, and MG12XUK) and were also sold as standalone replacement parts.

A crack can occur between the upper and lower cases of the PA-10 AC Power Adapter. When this happens, the upper and lower cases can separate completely and expose electrical wiring, creating a risk of electrical shock and electrocution to consumers. No injuries have been reported.

The adapters were sold nationwide through Guitar Center, Amazon.com, Sweetwater Sound, Sam Ash, Musicians Friend, B & H Foto & Electronics, American Musical Supply, independent and authorized Yamaha professional audio stores, and directly through Yamaha's website from June 2021 through November 2023 for about $60.

Consumers should immediately stop using the PA-10 AC Power Adapter and contact Yamaha for a free replacement. Yamaha will replace the adapter for any consumer who purchased a mixing console containing a defective PA-10 adapter or who purchased a defective PA-10 adapter as a standalone part.
