The recalled adaptors were manufactured from July 2010 through May 2012 and sold through music stores nationwide and online, as well as through Yamaha's website, from September 2010 through November 2014. They were also sold separately as a service repair part and built into certain Yamaha-brand Clavinova digital pianos. The company has received four reports of adaptors burning or smoking, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using and unplug the recalled adaptor. They can obtain a free replacement by visiting www.yamaha.com/us/support/pa300crecall/, calling Yamaha toll-free at 844-703-5446 (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT), or emailing [email protected]. Consumers will need to submit information through an online form or email and provide evidence of product destruction. Owners of Yamaha Clavinova digital pianos with built-in recalled adaptors should unplug the piano and contact Yamaha; the company will arrange free on-site inspection and replacement by a piano technician.
