These are constant-pressure water pumps with an integrated single-phase to three-phase variable speed controller, featuring a yellow canister attached to a stainless steel metal casing and aluminum-coated motor.
The pumps are not adequately grounded and can pose an electric shock hazard to users. The recalled pumps were sold online, in stores, and through contractors and third-party distribution partners from August 2020 through December 2022, priced at approximately $2,000 for model DD60-10NPT and $2,100 for model DD90-11NPT. The pumps were imported by EFkay Sales of Somerdale, New Jersey; O'Connor Sales Inc. of Cerritos, California; Preferred Sales Associates of Cartersville, Georgia; and Frontline Sales & Marketing LLC of Kent, Washington.
Davey has received one report of a consumer in Australia who experienced an electrical shock. No incidents or injuries have been reported in the United States. Consumers should not attempt to turn the pumps off, change settings, inspect, repair, or otherwise touch the pumps. Consumers should register their pump on Davey's website to schedule a free inspection to verify that connections are correctly grounded and, if necessary, arrange for repair.
