These pumps are residential submersible water removal devices with an automatic shut-off feature and a plug that glows green when running and red when shut off.

The recall is due to a hazard where water entering the electrical circuit board can cause a short circuit, posing risks of fire, burns, and electrical shock. The company has received 28 reports of the circuit board malfunctioning, which include two reports of minor burn injuries.

The affected pumps were sold at The Home Depot stores nationwide and online, as well as through The Home Depot Pro, from July 2019 through March 2021 for approximately $130. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pumps and contact Scott Fetzer Consumer Brands for a free replacement WaterBUG AUTO or standard WaterBUG pump.
