IMMI Recalls UTV Harnesses Due to Missing Stitching Injury Hazard

IMMI is recalling about 162,000 SubZero and Click6 UTV harnesses because missing stitching may prevent proper restraint during a crash. No injuries have been reported.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (safety restraint) where injury has not yet been reported, which aligns with the High severity criteria in the rubric.

Plain-English summary

Indiana Mills & Manufacturing, Inc. (IMMI) is recalling approximately 162,000 SubZero 4-point and Click6 6-point utility task vehicle (UTV) harnesses. The recall involves harnesses installed in Polaris Model Year 2015 and 2017-2020 RZR XP1000, RZR Turbo, RZR TurboS, and RZR Pro XP UTVs, as well as aftermarket accessories compatible with Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000 SxS, Can-Am Maverick and Maverick X3, and other Polaris RZR models. The harnesses were sold at Polaris, Kawasaki, and Can-Am dealerships nationwide from April 2014 through May 2020.

The recalled harnesses may be missing stitching at one of multiple attachment points. This defect poses an injury hazard because the harness may fail to properly restrain the occupant in the event of a crash. IMMI reports that seven harnesses lacked stitching, but no injuries or property damage have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled SubZero and Click6 harnesses until they are inspected by an authorized dealer. Consumers with affected harnesses missing stitching will receive a free replacement harness.
