What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (falling object hazard to infants) where injury has not yet been reported, fitting the 'High' severity criteria.

Plain-English summary

VTech Electronics North America LLC is recalling about 37,000 Lights & Lullabies travel mobiles sold in the United States. The recall involves model numbers 80-503000 (blue) and 80-503050 (pink), which were sold at Kmart, Walmart, Amazon.com, and zulily.com from February 2017 through November 2017 for about $25. The mobiles feature a plastic arm that clamps onto the side of a crib and hang three star attachments.

The recall is due to an injury hazard: the clamp attaching the mobile to the crib rail can break, causing the mobile to fall onto an infant in the crib. VTech has received six reports of the clamp cracking, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mobiles and contact VTech at 800-521-2010 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or online at vtechkids.com, for a full refund or a replacement product.
