The specific units affected have serial numbers ranging from 00706300001 to 00706300941, which are located on the rating plate on the back of the stove.

The recall is due to a hazard where the handle on the top load lid can become disengaged from the locked position. This allows the lid to unexpectedly slam shut, posing a risk of injury to consumers' fingers. The company has received five reports of incidents, including two reports involving minor injuries when fingers got caught in the lid.

The stoves were sold at Fireside Hearth & Home stores and Hearth & Home Technologies independent dealers from February 2015 through August 2016 for about $3,000.
