The recall is due to a laceration hazard. Fuel can back up in the units, creating unstable combustion and pressure build-up inside the firebox. This pressure can cause the glass to break. The firm has received eight reports of glass breaking, but no injuries have been reported.

The recalled units were sold at stove stores from February 2014 through January 2015 for about $4,000. Consumers should stop using the unit, turn the small blue dial on the stove or insert to the -4 position, and follow the daily maintenance requirements in the owner's manual.
