Loyoda adult portable bed rails are being recalled because they violate safety standards, posing risks of entrapment, asphyxiation, falls, and lacerations.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk of death by asphyxiation and serious injury from entrapment, which aligns with the rubric criteria for significant injury or property-damage reports and structural defects, warranting a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling Loyoda-branded adult portable bed rails due to violations of the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails. The recalled products pose a serious entrapment hazard where users can become trapped within the bed rail or between the rail and the mattress, creating a risk of death by asphyxiation. Additionally, the bed rails do not meet retention strap requirements, posing a fall hazard, and feature incorrectly sized push pins and holes that present a laceration hazard. The products also lack required hazard warning labels.

This recall involves approximately 2,200 units of silver-colored bed rails measuring 13.38 inches wide by 17.71 inches tall, extendable to 20.47 inches tall. The product labels display the brand "Loyoda" and model number "FBL140202." Only bed rails manufactured before December 15, 2025, are included in this recall. The manufacture date and model number are printed on the product packaging. The items were sold on Amazon by Loyoda Direct and Loyoda, both based in China.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with these products. Consumers should stop using the recalled bed rails immediately and contact Loyoda by email at [email protected] for a full refund. To process the refund, consumers are instructed to cut the black safety strap in half, write "RECALLED" on the upper and lower bed rails with a permanent marker, take a photo of the marked bed rail, and email the photo to [email protected].
