Vivohome-branded adult portable bed rails, sold for use on adult beds, are being recalled. They measure about 36.6 inches long, 16.1 inches wide and 15.7 inches high, with four padded metallic stand bars and either a wooden top bar (model VH1316-WC) or a metallic top bar (model VH1316-WH), each with a red release button that collapses the rail.
The bed rails violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails, posing a serious entrapment hazard and risk of death by asphyxiation. When attached to a bed, users can become entrapped within the bed rail or between the rail and the side of the mattress. The rails also do not bear the required hazard warning labels. The CPSC notice states that no injuries or incidents have been reported.
About 400 units were sold online at Amazon.com and Wayfair.com from November 2023 through September 2024 for about $70.
Consumers should immediately stop using the rails and contact Vivohome for a full refund, writing "RECALLED" on the rails and sending a photo to [email protected] before disposal.
