The recall involves approximately 6,500 units that were sold through electrical distributors nationwide for about $520 each. The fixtures measure 16 inches high by 22 inches wide, weigh about 40 pounds, and are painted white with raised heat dissipating fins.

The metal hub used to mount the fixtures to the ceiling can break, allowing the fixture to fall unexpectedly. This poses a risk of injury from impact. Lithonia Lighting has received eight reports of hubs breaking, including four reports of fixtures falling, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately contact Lithonia Lighting to receive a free chain to secure the fixture to the ceiling. The company is also contacting all known customers. Manufacture dates are located on the product label near the top of the light fixture. Units shipped after June 20, 2015, are not included in the recall.
