Plain-English summary

IKEA North America Services LLC is recalling LATTJO Tongue Drums and LATTJO Drumstick sets due to a choking hazard. The rubber balls on the ends of the drumsticks can detach or be unscrewed, creating a risk of choking for children. The recall includes approximately 2,000 tongue drums and 1,300 drumstick sets.

The LATTJO Tongue Drum is a solid birch rectangular-shaped drum with a turquoise-dot print and two solid red circles on top. It comes with a mallet featuring a black rubber ball. The LATTJO Drumstick set includes two solid birch drumsticks, two brushes, and two mallet-type drumsticks with black rubber balls, sold in a turquoise polyester roll-up pouch. These products were sold at IKEA stores nationwide and online from November 2015 through December 2015.

IKEA has received six reports from staff in IKEA stores in Germany, Denmark, Spain, and the Netherlands regarding the rubber balls detaching or being unscrewed. No incidents or injuries have been reported in the United States. Consumers should immediately take the recalled products away from children and return them to IKEA for a full refund.
