Plain-English summary

Samson International is recalling approximately 800 Spencer Bar Stools due to a fall hazard. The footrest on these stools can crack, which compromises the strength of the bar stool and may cause it to fail while in use.

The recalled stools feature a dark brown walnut finish wood with a brown leather padded back and swivel seat cushion. They have four legs with a footrest connecting each leg and measure 21 inches wide, 48 inches high, and 23 inches deep. The specific items involved have Samson item number M3216604 and Customer item number 845275, which are located on the bottom of the seat cushion.

These bar stools were sold exclusively at Costco regionally in the Dallas and San Francisco areas from May 2014 through June 2014 for about $150. The stools were manufactured in Bangladesh. No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bar stools and return them to the Costco store where the item was purchased for a full refund. For more information, consumers can contact Samson International at (800) 488-3001 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit www.samsoninternational.com.
