The recall involves model numbers 06251421 and 06251441 with serial numbers ranging from 3010000001 through 4020031488. These grinders have a green body, a black and red handle, and a silver head and wheel guard. They measure about 16 inches long by 4 inches wide by 5 inches deep and weigh about eight pounds.
The angle grinders have a defect where the on/off switch can stick in the "On" position, which poses a laceration hazard. Metabo has received two reports of the switches sticking in the "On" position, but no injuries have been reported.
The grinders were sold from March 2013 through April 2014 to consumers through industrial, construction, and welding distributors for about $220. Consumers should immediately stop using the angle grinders and contact Metabo to receive a free repair or replacement.
