SATCO Products Inc. is recalling KolourOne brand Panel Array 2.0 and DUO 2.0 PAR LED light bulbs. The recall involves 13-, 14-, and 17-watt white bulbs sold in longneck and shortneck models. The metal housing and lens assembly can separate from the bulb's base and fall, which poses a risk of injury from impact to bystanders.
The firm has received four reports of the bulb components separating, but no injuries have been reported. About 119,000 units were sold in the U.S. and 2,350 in Canada. The bulbs were sold at electrical supply stores, lighting showrooms, hardware and specialty stores nationwide, and online at Amazon.com from December 2012 to February 2014 for between $35 and $45.
Consumers should immediately stop using and remove the recalled light bulbs from any fixture. Consumers can contact SATCO Products for free replacement bulbs.
