The affected blenders are brushed aluminum with black buttons, a 56-oz. clear glass jar, and a black lid and base. The model and serial numbers are located on a serial plate on the underside of the motor base.

The recall is due to a hazard where the blender's blade shaft assembly can break during use, which poses a laceration hazard to consumers. Frigidaire has received eight reports of the blade shaft assembly breaking, but no injuries have been reported.

The blenders were sold at Best Buy, Target, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at amazon.com, bedbath.com, and other online retailers from March 2012 through July 2013 for about $130. Consumers should stop using the recalled blenders immediately and contact Frigidaire for instructions on returning them for a free replacement blender.
