BlendJet Recalls 4.8 Million BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders for Fire and Laceration Risk

BlendJet Inc. is recalling approximately 4.8 million BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders because they can overheat, catch fire, or have blades that break off during use, creating fire and laceration hazards.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall meets the "Severe" criteria because it involves reported injuries (49 reports of minor burns and 1 laceration) and significant property damage (approximately $150,000 in claims), along with a clear hazard of fire and laceration affecting a large population. Although no serious injuries requiring hospitalization are explicitly reported, the combination of injury reports and substantial property damage warrants a Severe classification.

Plain-English summary
