JELD-WEN, Inc. is recalling approximately 170,800 JELD-WEN and Reliabilt interior bifold doors. The recall involves molded white panel and flush natural wood grain bifold doors that run on upper tracks and lower pivot pins. The hazard exists because the lower pivot pin, a metal screw fitting into a white plastic sleeve, can break. If the pin breaks, the door can disengage from the overhead track and fall, posing an impact hazard. Only doors with pivot pins that have 12 rectangular indentations in the collar at the end of the sleeve are subject to the recall.

JELD-WEN is aware of twelve incidents of broken pivot pins causing the bifold doors to disengage from the overhead track. Three of these incidents involved minor injuries. The doors were sold at Home Depot, Lowe's, and other building products retailers between February 2011 and March 2012 for about $40 to $80.
