The product consists of three glass pumpkin-shaped holders of graduated sizes, six tea light candles, and a glass bead garland. The holders were sold in clear or amber glass from September 2006 through November 2006 for between $45 and $50, plus shipping and handling.

The recall is due to a laceration hazard. The glass candle holders can crack, break, or shatter when used with the accompanying tea light candles, creating sharp pieces of glass. QVC has received 85 reports of the product cracking, breaking, or shattering during use. Two consumers reported minor lacerations to their hands that did not require medical treatment.

The product was sold by QVC through television, its website, toll-free number, and in its outlet, employee, and Studio stores. QVC has notified customers by telephone and mail to stop using the candle holders. Consumers can receive a refund of the purchase price, including shipping and handling, upon certifying that they have safely discarded the glass candle holders, or receive replacement battery-powered tea light candles at no charge.
