The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Godinger Silver Art Co., Ltd. of Brooklyn, NY, are voluntarily recalling about 19,000 "Tree Shaped 7 Light Votive Holder" candle holders. The recall was initiated because the small glass pots included with the holders may overheat and shatter. Godinger received one report of a consumer's hand being injured by shattering glass.

The affected products are tree-shaped, wire candle holders measuring 12.75 inches high and 13.75 inches wide at the base. They were sold in two styles: silver-plated (item #1753) and brass-plated (item #1753B). Each unit is packaged with four green and three red small glass pots for votive candles. These holders were sold nationwide in major retail department and gift stores from September 1995 through December 1995 for $25 each.
