The recall involves circular, tree-shaped holders made of silver-plated wire, measuring 14.5 inches high and 7.5 inches wide at the base, with style number 1731 on the packaging. These products were sold nationwide in major retail department and gift stores from October 1996 through December 1996 for approximately $25.
The candle holders contain small glass pots that can overheat and shatter, presenting a fire hazard. Godinger has received two reports of the glass pots cracking while in use, which released burning wicks and melting wax. These incidents resulted in fire damage to a table surface and to carpets. No injuries have been reported.
