Endurance, a division of Body Solid Inc., is recalling about 700 Endurance Treadmills, including the T7, T7.1, T8, and T9.1 models. The recalled treadmills are black and silver and were sold at fitness equipment stores from September 2004 through April 2005 for between $2,000 and $2,500. The model number is located along the side of the running surface near the end of the treadmill, while the serial number is on a white sticker on the front lower shroud.

The recall is due to a defect where the treadmill can unexpectedly accelerate or decelerate. This malfunction may cause the user to lose control and fall. Endurance has received nine reports of speed control problems, but no injuries have been reported.
