These treestands feature an olive green frame, camo seats and seatbacks with black nylon cinch straps, and a yellow warning label.

The recall is being issued because a cable that secures the treestand to the tree can break. This defect poses a risk of falls and serious injuries to hunters. API Outdoors has received two reports of the cable breaking, including one incident where a person fell from a tree and suffered leg abrasions.

The recalled treestands were sold through retailers and distributors nationwide, including Wal-Mart and Cabela's, through mid-October 2002. The Cable Cat models were sold for about $180, and the Buckmaster models for about $230. Consumers should stop using these treestands immediately and call API Outdoors toll-free at (800) 228-4846 to receive a free replacement cable.
